When will I be billed next? (CrashPlan for Small Business FAQ)

If your payment method on file expires or has a problem for some reason, you will need to add new payment information. After doing so, you'll want to know when the subscription is set to renew so that you can be sure that your data is safe and your backups continue running.

CrashPlan for Small Business subscriptions attempt to auto-renew on the following schedule:

  • A first attempt 7 days prior to the expiration date to ensure continuation of service.
  • A second attempt the day of the expiration date.
  • A final attempt 7 days after the expiration date.

If the first attempt fails, we will try again on the date of expiration and send a warning email for each billing attempt. If the second attempt fails, the subscription continues for an additional 7 day grace period. At the end of this period, we will attempt to renew the subscription a final time before the subscription is cancelled. If this occurs, you will need to purchase a new subscription.

Without a subscription, backups will no longer occur. Your data will be retained for 45 days after auto-renewal failure in accordance with our Data Retention Policy. Accounts without an active subscription for more than 90 days will be deactivated.

You can find your expiration date by signing in to the CrashPlan console and selecting Account > Manage My Subscription and clicking on your most recent order.
