I need to exclude a network from CrashPlan (CrashPlan for Small Business FAQ)

When backing up with CrashPlan for Small Business, you may need to ensure that the CrashPlan app does not use certain networks. This could be because you are using a slower VPN connection, or you need to ensure CrashPlan does not use a metered connection like your cellular device or hotspot.

The CrashPlan app uses the primary network interface assigned by your operating system. If the primary interface is excluded, the CrashPlan app blocks backup activity, even if other network interfaces are available.

Exclude wireless networks

You can prevent the CrashPlan app from using specified wireless networks (for example, a mobile wireless hotspot with a usage cap).

Steps

  1. Open the CrashPlan app.
  2.  Select Settings.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Next to Wireless network exclusions, select Change.
  5. Select the plus (+).
  6. Select a network from the list.Add-Restricted-Netwrok-export.png
If you do not see the network you want to restrict, click Add Network, enter the name of the network, and click Add
  7. Click Save.
  8. From Wireless Network Exclusions, click Save.
