I need to sign a BAA for HIPAA compliance (CrashPlan for Small Business FAQ)

Covered entities under HIPAA must have a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with CrashPlan prior to using CrashPlan products to store electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). To obtain an BAA, provide the following information to our support team:

  • Company Name.
  • Email of the person authorized to sign agreement.
  • Name of the person authorized to sign agreement.

Once we have the required information, we will send an agreement to the specified email for the authorized party to sign. The agreement will be sent via DocuSign, an electronic document platform. After you have signed the agreement, the BAA will be active in perpetuity and does not need to be renewed at a specific interval.
