CrashPlan cannot connect to the background service (CrashPlan for Small Business FAQ)

Sometimes the CrashPlan app may display error messages such as Service is currently unavailable or CrashPlan cannot connect to its background service.  This is typically because the CrashPlan service is unable to run.

Ensure your device meets the minimum system requirements

First, make sure that your device meets the minimum system requirements for CrashPlan for Small Business. Unsupported operating systems (Windows 7/8, MacOS 10.14, etc.) may no longer be able to run the CrashPlan App.

What are CrashPlan's system requirements?

If your operating system is not the issue, this problem can often be resolved with a simple uninstall and re-install.
