Overview
This tutorial describes how to change your password, as well as how to request a password reset if you lose or forget your password.
Considerations
SSO and LDAP
If your company uses single sign-on (SSO) or LDAP, you cannot change your CrashPlan password because your existing SSO or LDAP username and password are used to sign in to CrashPlan. Contact your system administrator if you need to change your SSO or LDAP password.
Secure passwords
Tips for creating a secure password
- Passwords must be at least 8 characters. For stronger security, use 16 characters or more.
- Passwords must have at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Special characters and symbols are also allowed.
- Passwords can't contain spaces or 3 or more repeating letters, numbers, or characters.
- Passwords shouldn't contain common words or phrases that are easily guessed (like "password" or "letmein").
